Description

This is my Safari Blanket Pattern – It is written in ENGLISH and it uses US crochet terms. It is made with Stylecraft Special DK yarn and uses a 4mm hook.

The blanket has 13 different animals/ birds. I have tried to keep the patterns as simple as I can by using the same method for the body/ chest/ heads and feet.

I have included two different types of patterns for the leaves squares – there are intarsia and applique versions. So you can choose which one you would prefer to do! The intarsia ones have colour block instructions and a chart to follow.

I have used a corner leaf pattern on each of the squares – this is worked as part of the granny square and is not an applique. The squares measure approx 18cm x 18cm. The finished blanket measures approx 100cm x100cm.

The squares are joined together using the continuous flat braid join method and the blanket is finished with a leaf border.
